Finding a suitable manufacturer

As a rule of thumb we recommend searching sites such as:

 Made-in-China

Alibaba

AliExpress

DHgate

Manufacturers list a huge variety of their products on these websites. Once you found a product you like, select the contact supplier option. Most suppliers will ask for a whatsapp number to contact you on, from here you ask make any enquiries about the pricing, product quality, shipping rates, minimum order quantity (MOQ) and commodity codes related to the products.

Example from Made-in-China although all websites listed follow a similar layout. Most do not require sign-up to contact suppliers, but you will have to leave an email address or whatsapp number for them to contact you on.

What is MOQ, FOB & DDP?

MOQ stands for minimum order quantity, this figure is the absolute minimum amount of products you must order. Different manufacturers offer different MOQs so its always wise to contact multiple suppliers to find one that meets your needs.

FOB stands for freight on board. This means the manufacturer will transport your goods to the port and load them ready for shipping. Note this is as far as the FOB service takes you, so in addition to the product price you'll have to pay for the shipping costs from the Chinese port to your chosen location. As well as any customs and insurance fees.

DDP stands for direct duty paid. This method means that the seller is solely responsible for the costs and risks when it comes to delivering your products.
